This recording of Monteverdi's retelling of the Orpheus legend may not be as fine overall as John Eliot Gardiner's, but it has much to recommend it. Nigel Rogers was the first great modern Monteverdi tenor: he made this record after his prime (he no longer has the beautiful sound one wants from an Orfeo), but his virtuoso passage-work and stylish ornaments should be required listening for every student of the role. The cast, chorus, and orchestra give solid, if occasionally reserved, performances (though Guillemette Laurens is a shrill Messenger). The best singing of the entire record is (perhaps unfortunately) at the beginning: Emma Kirkby's sweet voice, imaginative embellishment, and eloquent delivery as Music result in absolutely the best rendition of the Prologue on record. --Matthew Westphal

Okay I just thought of a story. Please tell me if you like it. Queen Bees- Oxford-Smith School is a private non-uniformal school split up so that the girls and the boys don't take any classes together not even lunch. Then there are 3 Queen Bees- Rose Bartlett, Brittany Herrins, and Melissa Rose aka Melrose Moon. Rose is the she-devil aka Queen of Mean, Brittany is the Ralph Lauren obsessed girl who is the richest aka The Indie Darling- Indie meaning Independent,and finally there is Melrose is the hippie goddess only caring about world peace aka Hippie Goddess her moto is make the Moon a Star. And then there is Jenny Kirks a new girl there on a scholarship. She is from Rosewood, Pennsylvania she has a good sense of style but can't afford the finer things life has to offer. They all love fashion and spending money but they all hate each other and Jenny she could care less all she wants to do in her new school is fit in. What happens when they all get paired up to start a business? They name their product Shotgun. They start off making it a cosmetic line but it ends up a clothing line at the end they all become best friends.
