Open Question: Is this fanfiction any good?
Death Note Fan fiction. Kizai Stared at the silver face of his watch. ?9 more seconds? He said prodding at his noodles that had been laid in front of him. He glanced swiftly a the black almost sinister looking Notebook in front of him. He grinned with satisfaction at the names he had written in the past five minutes. The announcer on the television in the living loudly reported that a criminal had suddenly been stabbed to death in prison. He listened to the details carefully awaiting for what he wanted to hear. ?The Man was brutally stabbed to Death when it was most impossible to get into his cell. But a strange mark of mystery appeared on the back of his neck. It was a large black K branded into his skin. Forensics Say his body seemed to be cut perfectly with a knife or machete. The K branded into his skin has not yet been classified as anything we can investigate. We?ll be back after these commercial.? Kizai Sat back in his swivel chair. He laughed a little to himself. ?This notebook?I notice it has super natural abilities. I wonder why that is? Seemed like an ordinary notebook at first until I wrote down the name of that Clerk. I thought I would be able to make a list of people I should go and visit?but no?he was found dead from a massive heart attack in the back room of his shop. So I can kill people with just a flick of my pen on this notebook huh?? He thought almost too happily. ?Yes? I can rule this city?No I can do much more than that?? He said quietly to himself. ?Is that right young one?? A raspy voice said interrupting his thoughts. He spun around slowly around in his chair and saw a creature staring back with Olive like eyes. It grinned at him and sat down on his window sill. ?W-Who are you?? He said as his happiness vanished instantly. A feeling of strong fear twisted into a knot inside of him. ?Me? I?m a Shinigami. I?m bound to you until your DeathNote is destroyed or you die. You my friend are holding what is feared deep in the hearts of all people on this wretched place you call earth? It said yawning a bit. ?A what? What the hell is a DeathNote? What?s going on? He said trying hard not to panic. Sweat spilled down his forehead as he watched the ugly creature cock it?s head to the side. ?That notebook. It?s called a Death Note. You can kill anyone just by writing their name down. I?m sure you?ve already read at least one of the rules since you killed those people. Surely you?ve heard of a Shinigami before young one.? Kizai shook his head. He was only fourteen who could he have known what that ?thing? was. The Shinigami Sighed ?I?m a death God. Boy oh boy Do I hate repeating myself more than twice. I live in the Shinigami realm and we Shinigami drop our Death notes in the human world for fun every once in a while. It?s been about thirty years since the last Death Note was dropped. The last holder of a Death Note Died? from his own Death Note. So I hope you?ll last longer than the last one.? It explained crossing its pale white arms. Kizai Backed away, his eyes widened. ?So ?Shinigami? what is your name?? He asked still shaken by the thing staring at him with those lurking red eyes. ?The names Matsuro Kid. Remember it because we?re going to be roommates for a pretty long time. There?s No need to give me yours I already know it. Kizai Yoshi, Nice to be in the presence of a nice new face.? He cackled and spread his gray wings and floated over to Kizai. The air was thick with tension between Kizai and the Shinigami. Kizai screwed up his face and said ?So What happened to the last person to have this ?Death Note?? He said holding it up. ?His name was Yagami Light. He died a way he deserved. He died a short while after possessing the Death Note. I sure hope your more fun. You seem like an? interesting Boy.? The curious Teenager opened his mouth to speak when the Shinigami held up a slender ugly finger. ?No more Questions. I had a bit of a journey on my way here and I?m tired of babbling all this to you at one time. Let me rest and we?ll talk more later.? The Shinigami jumped on his bed and put his hands behind his head. Kizai at that turned around to face his mahogany desk. His eye?s scanned the surface of the pitch black notebook. He touched it lightly with his finger and pulled back almost afraid it would rip to pieces at the slightest fingerprint. Kizai suddenly got a bursting urge to write more names down on his new personal gift. He picked up a pen and opened to a fresh page of the Death Note. The pages seemed to whisper names for him to write. He quickly listened to the murmuring of the TV downstairs. The reporter was now talking about a new Serial Killer not far from where he lives. ?Can?t let him get to my family now can we?? He said in a hushed tone. The Shinigami seemed to drown out any other sounds with his obnoxious snoring. ?His name is Kitai Reynolds. He is said to have gotten out of prison under a mix up of paperwork. He was accidentally set free instead of another prisoner n (more...)

Open Question: He procrastinated on our anniversary!?
For the ladies. (3yrs) What would you do if your man procrastinated till the last minute to get you a gift on your anniversary? Well, just a card but you had your heart set on flowers and maybe a small gift? I gave him his gift 1st thing in the morning and i got a card later that day and he said he got too wrapped up during the day. Well, uhm, he had a year to think about making it special, right? I was very upset cuz i was hoping to have a special night together and it didn't happen. After I told him how I felt as I was crying, he got mad at me and stormed out the door. He ended up coming back with flowers, a stuffed animal, candle, wine, and a pair of running shoes I'd been wanting. It was sweet of him and i don't believe it was too late but i'm sure he will learn from this and plan something ahead for next year. Geez people, you are rude! We had planned on doing something nice, talking about it a couple weeks in advance. We have 2 children and we REALLY needed special time together and i thought he would have something special in mind since i had given him hints. If something bothers either of us we are going to express our feelings. Sorry I don't kiss his ass like most of you probably do your man! For you guys, remember there are 3 important dates to give her flowers: Valentines Day, Birthday, Anniversary. And ladies, don't lie, you know you expect them! Oh, i'm 32 and have been through this before too. It's a 2-way street. And for those of you who have sons, please teach them how to be romantic, there is a shortage of good old fashioned romantic men these days. (more...)

Open Question: I would like some feedback on what I've written here?
This was written in the last few minutes, inspired mainly by a good day and partly by the song Lord of the Dance/Simple Gifts by Blackmore's Night. I'd like some feedback, although it was written spur-of-the-moment and more because I felt like sharing some of my good mood than for any other reason. Also: There's a bit of "(The) God(dess) is all around you" that went into this poem. I'm a Taoist, and my beliefs tend to out themselves in my writing to a certain extent. I believe in laughter I believe in light I believe in sunshine And in creatures in the night I believe in springtime I believe in love I believe in holy trees And laughter from above There is beauty everywhere If all you do is look There is joy in a snowflake There's worlds of wonder in a book I believe in many things, and each of them is me I believe in many people, and each of them is you Everything I've said above And all you've said below It all has its own merit, and all of it is true It's intentional that this isn't in the Poetry section; I rather thought Books and Authors could use the sentiment just now. To Huntress: First of all, thank you very much! Second, yes, I have been published, but only technically. I've had two poems published in a collection that, on further investigation, was only a quick way for that publisher to make a buck. It was still pretty neat seeing something I'd written in print, though. (more...)

Open Question: It's me again - LOL (venting) need to see my husband's point of view..?
For the last 8 years, the kids (3,6 & 11) rarely have Christmas the way I want them to...the full Santa thing, toys and just the full Christmas Spirit (cookies, music, shopping, wrapping gifts). Well my husband thought it was a total waste, and we never really celebrated Christmas. It's not religion b/c he don't have one, nor does he go to church. I love Christmas, so this year we are separated, but in counseling, and he STILL wants to get the kids 1 toy a piece and take a family trip. I said, the kids are really looking forward to Christmas and a family trip is something we should do in the summer. Christmas is for kids. This year, I already started a lay-a-way for them, and just really getting all of us in the cheery (made up words) spirit. My first time EVER being mommy Clause... In the past,...at the last minute (Christmas Eve) he ask, can you go out and get the kids, and my sisters stuff for Christmas?? WTF, it's like he loves to inconvience me and ruin any happy moments. I don't see his reasoning at all, are all men this way? We fall out b/c i say "back in Nov. I could have planned for this, now you wait 24 hours before CHRISTMAS?!?!?!? Is is me? All advice is appreciated (more...)
