what do you do leading up to Christmas, what do you do on christmas eve, and what do you do on christmas day. and if you watch anything in particular on T.V? and anything else that you would like to add these is my traditions: well 2 weeks leading up to christmas we put up our christmas tree we always listen to classic christmas music while we do it (im only 15 so classic christmas music is like fairytale of new york and band aid) then when we have the tree up we turn all the lights out and just have the christmas tree ones on, the we watch a christmas film like santa clause 1, 2 and 3 ect. and we watch 1 christmas film a night until christmas day. the night before christmas eve i don't go to sleep because i can never get to sleep on christmas eve night so i watch top gear on dave (well i only started that last year and i have no idea if there showing top gear again this year, it was fun though) and on christmas eve we watch films the are on the T.V while my mum and dad are out buying presents. on christmas eve night we watch all the specials on T.V and at about 11-12 we all go to bed except my mum and my dad. on christmas morning we are not allowed downstairs until all the kids are up (im the youngest so i don't know why i said kids) and we have to wait for my mum and day to come and get us (i always get up at about 5, i have no idea why) so i watch whatever is on the T.V which is kids stuff (i personally like 'bear in the big blue house') while i am waiting for them. we normally go down at about 7-8 and we all start opening our presents and after we have all opened them we help tidy up and throw out all the wrapping paper. after that we all play with the new stuff that we have just got until about 11 when my sister comes round, she has christmas dinner with us and she has 3 children, so when she is here her children start opening the presents they have got from my parents, they gradually nearly all my mums side of the family (her mum her brother) come round, they all have dinner at ours to. so we all sit in the living room talking until the tea is ready at about 4-5. then after tea we all start talking again until one by one my sister and my mums mum and my mums brother go. then we all start playing again with the stuff we have just got until about 9 then we all gather around the fire in the living room and watch a classic christmas film (like its a wonderful life or the holiday inn) then after the film we all go up to bed and go to sleep with a smile on our faces. My husband has a son from a previous marriage. He and his ex have shared custody, but we have been living in Europe so he could only come for a visit. We are now back in the States and ready to have him in our home regularly. He will stay with us every other weekend and every Wednesday evening. I've never done this before, so I'm curious to see how others do it. Should we buy clothes for him to keep here? What about toys? Does he bring toys? If we buy him toys should he leave them here? Or should he be able to take them back to his mom's? My other concern is Christmas. We will have him on Christmas Eve, and I have other children; so do all of the kids open their presents on the Eve when we have Bradley? If we did that, then Santa wouldn't be able to come on Christmas day. I'm so confused on how to go about all of that. If anyone is in the same situation I would LOVE some advice. Thank you!! I have a LOT of kids to buy for this year... I'm hoping I can find some crafty or cheap/creative ideas. I want them to get something they enjoy without breaking the bank. Please help!! 9 year old girl: girly girl, monkeys, feeling older 7 year old boy: into soccer, out doorsy stuff... wants to be an "army guy" like his uncle 7 yr old boy: into detectives, horse riding, soccer 6 year old girl: loves horses, horse back riding, ballet, country music, jewelry, feeling older, girly girl 4 year old boy: loves transformers, Cars, action figures, etc 3 year old girl: okay.. she's a toughie.. she's a BRAT ... the kind who shakes boxes and says with disgust "OH.. its clothes"... she likes ducks 2 year old boy: likes sticks, trucks, noise makers six month old boy: ... books, noise makers *SIGH* They're all pretty wealthy.. so they'll be getting big expensive presents from their parents (my brothers and sisters) and my parents. I want them to enjoy the presents...but not kill myself. It could be a general gift for all of them, or specific to them. Whatever you can think of... for all of them or for ANY of them. HELP HELP HELP! I'm willing to get crafty and spend time.. just give me some ideas! So far only phoenixellen has the right idea... barbie dolls, cds, and the like.. even from wal mart add up REALLY fast. Plus they're already getting expensive things from others. Who wants a cheap barbie when you already got 10 expensive ones? I think I will go check our hobby lobby/michaels for craft kits. What about the younger kids? 4, 2, and the baby? (more...)
